Essential Financial Proof
You’ll need to show you have enough money to support yourself unless you’ve been in the UK with a valid visa for at least 12 months on the date of your application. The amount of money you need depends on where you will be studying. You’ll need either:
- £1,483 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses in London
- £1,136 per month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London
Dependants
Your partner and child must each have a certain amount of money available to them. This is in addition to the money you must have to support yourself. The amount of money needed depends on where you will be studying. They must have either:
- £845 a month (for up to 9 months) for courses in London
- £680 a month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London

The amount you need to show on your bank statement if you are a single student;
- Inside London: £1483 * 9 + Outstanding Tuition Fees

The amount you need to show on your bank statement if you are a student with dependent/s;

Note: You need to have a surplus amount in your account to avoid international rate fluctuation.
IHS FEE
Cost for a year
You’ll have to pay:
- £776 per year for visa and immigration applicants who are under the age of 18 at the time of application
- £1,035 per year for all other applications, for example, £3,105 for a 3-year visa
6 Months or Less
You do not need to pay the surcharge if you’re applying from outside the UK for 6 months or less. If you’re applying from inside the UK, you’ll have to pay half the yearly cost. For example:
- £388 for students, their dependents, or under-18 applications
- £517.50 for any other application
